Evaluations

2026 PF Ava Quint, a lefty, is a strong force down low. She is extremely strong with the ball around the basket and finishing through defenders. At 5-10 she creates a lot of problems for teams to defend her. Ava is also a very good shooter for her size and can knock down 3s and make 15-17 footers off pick-and-roll screens and pick-and-pops.   Watching her play, the thing that impressed me the most was her defensive ability and anticipation for the ball – getting a lot of deflections and steals to create easy offense for her team. She is a great rebounder and plays with true heart and passion. Ava plays hard and knows how to handle contact from defenders. She does a good job playing big on defense. She can easily grab 10 rebounds a game because she’s always on the glass both on the offensive and defensive ends.   Ava does need to improve her ball handling to allow more options for herself on offense, but I know she will improve because she is a hard worker. She’s also working on her right-hand finishes around the basket. She has really good footwork and plays high-level AAU basketball for All Ohio and Midwest Hoops. Ava is an overall solid prospect, and a lot of schools would love to have a strong player like this on their team. — DJ Blanks, ScoutU Basketball Scout, DJ@ScoutU.com, 216-990-8617

Message from Ava

My name is Ava Quint, and I’m a 2026 power forward from Westerville South High School in Ohio, currently averaging 8 points and 14 rebounds per game. I’m a left-handed shooter who’s worked hard to develop ball-handling skills with both hands, and I bring intensity and physicality to the paint while also being confident from the 3-point line. I play for Lady Gym Rats 17U EYCL. I’m known for setting hard screens, battling on the boards, and being a high-effort teammate. My shooting coach, Cody Ballard, continues to push me to grow as a confident and consistent shooter.   Unfortunately, I missed my junior season due to an ACL injury during fall league. After extensive physical therapy and strength training, I was fully cleared to return to play on May 19. This recovery process not only strengthened me physically but also deepened my passion for the game and sparked my interest in exercise science and biomechanics. I plan to pursue this field in college so I can help other athletes recover, train smart and return stronger – just like I’ve been able to do with the support of my trainers and coaches.   Academically, I carry a 3.69 GPA and work hard in the classroom as well as on the court. I have an IEP due to PTSD, which sometimes impacts my short-term memory, but I’ve learned to manage it by relying on repetition, structure and consistency – all things that also make me better at basketball. My commitment to growth as both a student and athlete has helped me turn a challenge into a source of discipline and resilience.   As I enter my senior year, I’m focused, healthy and ready to compete at a high level. I’m looking for a college program where I can contribute as a versatile power forward and continue developing as a balanced student-athlete. I’m especially interested in schools that offer strong programs in exercise science, where I can blend my love for basketball with a future helping others through sport and recovery.   Thank you for visiting my profile, and I look forward to hearing from you.
