Evaluations

5-foot-7, 155 pounds. RHP/OF. R/R. Utilizes variety of pitches, placing well and mixing pitches well to keep hitters off balance. Strikeout pitcher (155 Ks in 115 IP in club) with good control (1.43 WHIP). Best pitch is curveball (59 mph, strikeout pitch, looks like fastball and breaks late just outside the strike zone, 5.9-inch vertical break, 1.7-inch horizontal break). 60 mph fastball (keeps low and inside, working on better accuracy high in the zone). Throws riseball (56 mph) when ahead in the count (gradually goes up, working on having a better late rise; 3.7-inch vertical, 2.1-inch horizontal). Throws knuckle changeup (47 mph). Recently learned dropball (55 mph). Strong push off, working on release points. Contains emotions and does not rattle (stays light-hearted, even when getting hit). Good presence in the circle. At the plate, mostly a pull hitter (singles, doubles, consistent hard grounders and line drives). Working on hitting to opposite field. Good pitch selection. Uses lower half well. 64.3 mph exit, 0.16 time to contact, 18.1 mph hand speed. 58 mph OF arm, 59 mph IF arm, 61 mph run & gun. 3.28 20-yard dash. Leader (well-liked and low drama). Loves the game. Excellent student (3.9 GPA with AP/Honors courses). Looking to major in architecture. — Jason Lauren, ScoutU Scout, 414-303-7607 (cell), Jason@ScoutU.com

Message from Anna

My name is Anna Dornbach, and I am a 2027 pitcher from Waukesha West High School in Wisconsin. I have a 4.0 GPA, and I would like to major in business in college. I am 5-foot-7 and weigh 155 pounds. My best pitch is my curveball (58 mph), which I use to catch batters off guard by placing it just outside the strike zone, out of their reach (155 K in 115 IP for club). Along with my curveball, I also throw a 61 mph fastball, 58 mph riseball, 59 mph dropball and a 47 mph changeup. When I am not pitching, I am playing outfield with the ability to throw the ball to the infield at 58 mph.   I am very hard-working and always willing to take the extra time to better myself as a player. I meet with my pitching coach for 1 hour twice every month and pitch on my own several times each week. I train with my hitting coach for 1 hour around two times a month, and I also do weekly batting practice on my own. Additionally, I do weight training on my own for 1 hour three times a week. This training consists of exercises targeting my lower body, core and upper body to help me enhance my performance on the field.   Along with softball, I also put a lot of time and hard work into my education in order to prepare myself for college. As a sophomore, I’m taking AP World History, AP Psychology and Honors English 10. During my freshman year, I passed the AP Human Geography test and took Honors English. I made the High Honor Roll while achieving Waukesha West Scholar-Athlete status.   Outside of school and softball, I also play high school tennis in the fall and hold two part-time jobs in my community. During the school year, I am a dinner server at a retirement community called The Avalon. During the summer months, I am a lifeguard at Buchner Pool Aquatic Center. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me as an athlete, student and community member. I wish you and your team the best of luck this upcoming season!
