ScoutU has helped hundreds of families with college recruiting over the years. Sometimes that includes siblings who both advance to play in college. When Rita Sippy recently committed to Christian Brothers University, it marked the third Sippy sibling to reach the next level with Jason Lauren’s help.
Lauren previously worked with Kurtis (baseball) and Michael (track) on their way to collegiate careers. He then began helping Rita with her recruiting in 2021 – before she even started high school. ScoutU scouts have now placed athletes at more than 260 different colleges across the country.
“It was a pleasure to help yet another Sippy with their recruiting!” Lauren said. “Rita is a true utility player, being a pitcher, excellent hitter and a threat to steal every time she’s on base with her great speed. She did all the right things with her recruiting, and it was great to see her develop over the last 4 years into the player she is today. I’m sure she will have a great career at Christian Brothers!”
Sippy dominated both in the circle and on the base paths during her junior season at Oak Creek (Wis.) High School. As a pitcher, she totaled a 9-1 record, 1.81 ERA and four shutouts. Offensively, Sippy batted .348 with 15 RBI and a school-record 33 stolen bases.
Enticed by the warmer weather in Tennessee, Sippy found lots to love about Christian Brothers University. She was especially impressed by the team, the dorms and the academics. During her recruiting process, Sippy received five offers and had at least 20 phone calls.
“Jason helped with determining which camps and events to go to and how to juggle the multiple offers,” said Rita’s dad Paul. “Many coaches opened up the emails and started a dialogue. Also, anytime we had a question for Jason, day or night, he always responded promptly.”
