After establishing a Madison College record with 267 strikeouts in two seasons, Kendall Weik proved she was ready for a bigger challenge. Her next pitch will come in the Atlantic Coast Conference for North Carolina State University.

“I cannot even describe how excited and blessed I am to play at a Power 4 Conference school for my last 2 years,” Weik said. “This has always been my dream to get to this level and have such great coaches helping me towards my new goals. I cannot wait to get to work.”

Weik is transferring from one Wolfpack to another. During her junior college career, she posted a 27-13 record, 16 complete games and 3.19 ERA over 246 innings.

“I’m so proud of Kendall and honored to be a part of her recruiting journey,” ScoutU’s Jason Lauren said. “Her story is one of my favorites in the 17-plus years I’ve been helping kids with their recruiting. She went from a tiny town in northern Wisconsin, to Madison College to a Power 4 Conference school, which is incredible! I’m so happy all of her hard work and determination have paid off.”

Weik (Fifield, Wis.) hails from a town of less than 600 people, and now she’ll be in the Raleigh metropolitan area of more than 1 million. During her recruitment, Weik received at least a dozen overs and estimates she had about 100 calls with college coaches.

“The details in highlighting Kendall’s metrics and promoting her successes along the way were a huge bonus,” said Kendall’s mom, Nicole. “ScoutU provided timelines and dead periods to help navigate the best time to reach out to coaches. Jason Lauren was also a great help because of how fast he was at responding right away if we had questions or anything came up. Coming from a small area, we can appreciate the difficulty there is to get to big areas, get exposure, and then continually keep working and pushing limits to the next level and be competitive, stay competitive, and beyond.”
