evaluations

5-7, 140 pounds. OF/SS. Bats R, throws R. Excellent arm (64 mph IF velocity). Earned Honorable Mention All-Conference for conference champion as sophomore. Quick swing. Good power gap to gap with occasional home-run ability. Clutch hitter (24 RBI in 67 ABs as a sophomore). Excels vs. faster pitchers and usually does not get fooled by changeups. Working to improve hitting riseballs better and avoiding opening hips too soon. Good range in OF/IF. Judges ball well off the bat. Not afraid to lay out and dive for balls. Working to improve keeping head on the ball and watching it into her glove. Self-motivated and very strong work ethic. Wakes up at 5:30 a.m. to get a workout in at her high school during the school year and goes to nearby fields or in her basement to get extra work in. Very polite and coachable. Was voted “Polite Knight” at her school (one of two in her class), an award which is voted on by her classmates for her politeness. Excellent student (3.929 GPA with several advanced courses; completed algrebra in 7th grade and geometry in 8th grade, 26 ACT).

I have had the pleasure of coaching Hailey Jibben for a couple of years. Let me start by saying she is a great kid with a great family foundation. As far as her skills go on the field. she currently plays left field for us as well as some SS. On the defensive side of the ball, she has a +++ arm, good speed to go with good softball instincts. Over on the offensive side of the ball, she brings a strong approach to the plate. She has good plate discipline, which helps her to hit for a high average. She also hits for power as the ball tends to jump off her bat due to her solid mechanics. Great baserunner with speed and strong baserunning instincts. Besides what she brings to our team on the field, what I might be most proud of is for relentless work ethic, always wants extra reps to get better, always hustles, great teammate and takes to coaching very well. I know Hailey has a passion for this game and wants to play it at the next level, and there isn’t a doubt in my mind, with her skills and determination to go with her character, she will make some college program stronger.

Hailey Jibben was a freshman this past spring on the Oak Creek Varsity softball team that played in the Wisconsin state softball tournament (22-4 record). Hailey’s primary role as a freshman ended up being a reserve outfielder. She is a very versatile athlete, able to play shortstop and all three outfield spots, and she has a very strong arm (plus 60 mph overhand). Hailey is extremely athletic, she has exceptional lateral agility and straight ahead running speed (used almost every game as a runner for our pitcher or catcher). Hailey has very quick hands and has a powerful swing. With more game experience, she will have no problem hitting quality pitching of 60+ mph. Hailey has shown she is willing to work hard. She rarely missed a 5:30 a.m. weight-room session during the winter, and she is always seeking advice/feedback on what she can do to improve her game. As Hailey continues to get quality game reps through her summer travel team, I have no doubt she will be a quality contributor to our program for the next three years.

MESSAGE FROM HAILEY

Hello, my name is Hailey Jibben, and I am a 2021 graduate at Oak Creek High School in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. I am 5-7 and weigh 140 pounds. My main positions are center field and shortstop, but I can also play the entire outfield and third base. I have a GPA of 3.929 and 26 ACT, and I would like to major in nursing or physical therapy. I can throw 64 mph when playing in the infield, and I earned Honorable Mention All-Conference as a sophomore with a .513 OBP and 24 RBI in 67 at-bats.

I am a super hard worker, and I am always trying my best to improve. During the school year, I wake up at 5:30 a.m. to go to a non-mandatory workout at my high school. For workouts, we run and lift weights. I worked out for approximately 1 hour, three times a week, from October to April.  Also, I practice hitting in my basement during the offseason, and during the season, I go to parks near my house to practice hitting and fielding. I am also a very hard worker when it comes to my academics. I have been on the honor roll since sixth grade, and I won the “Polite Knight” award. Only two students received this award out of the entire ninth grade and the grade voted on who should win the awards. I won the Polite Knight award, because I am a very kind and courteous person. In softball, I am a leader on the field. I am always cheering on my fellow teammates, and I am always shouting encouragement to them.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reading my message.
