Elise Hoven is one of the top young players in the state of Wisconsin. She owns a great swing and has really challenged herself by playing in elite events. Elise was named 2018 Conference Player of the Year while leading Cedarburg to its first State Tournament in school history. With a scoring average of 81, she consistently hits about 65% of her fairways and greens.  Elise is very dedicated to the game, working with her swing coach twice each month. She currently drives the ball around 225 yards but is strength training to add even more. Elise is focused on improving her short game because she is reliable from tee to green. She broke 80 numerous times last year and has won multiple events on the Wisconsin JPGA circuit.  As a sophomore, Elise is taking all honors courses including several AP classes. She owns a 3.4 GPA and understands the priority of academics. Elise will continue to improve on the course, and she’s motivated to be a great contributor at the collegiate level. — Jon Feyen, ScoutU Scout, 920-979-3093, Jon@ScoutU.com I’ve had the opportunity to work with Elise on her golf game for the past six seasons while at Hidden Glen. During this time, I have seen her grow and develop not only as a player, but as a person. Elise has become a very solid player that is tournament-tested. She has a “never give up” attitude on the course. This complements her above-average length, solid iron play and an improving short game to help carry her to being one of the top junior players in the state.  One of the things that stands out most to me about Elise is her work ethic and coachability. There are many days when she is the only person practicing at Hidden Glen. She is always looking to improve (both golf-related and physically outside of golf) and work on things asked of her to get better. At Cedarburg High School, she has had to step into the leadership role early in her career, and has done a tremendous job balancing both golf and school.  I think any college coach and program would benefit from having a player, person and leader like Elise. All of these characteristics will make her a great asset to a program like yours. — Kevin Kramp, PGA Golf Professional

MESSAGE FROM ELISE

My name is Elise Hoven from Grafton, Wisconsin. I will graduate in 2021 from Cedarburg High School, the top ranked high school in WI by US News & World Report.  Academically, I hold a 3.4 GPA while taking all honors or AP classes both freshman and sophomore years, and I’ve been on the Honor Roll both years. I also was thrilled to help my team receive Academic All-State (honorable mention) for the second year in a row. I plan on majoring in either psychology, sociology or behavioral science in college. I am ranked No. 2 in the Class of 2021 by Wisconsin.Golf and my competitive scoring average is 79 from the summer and 75 in fall high school season. As a junior, I was named 1st-Team All-State, named Conference Player of the Year, finished 3rd at the WIAA State Tournament (75-76) and was the Sectional Champion (72) and Regional Champion (76).

I believe my golf strengths lie in my distance and accuracy off the tee, where I can consistently carry it 230 yards. I work extremely hard both in-season and off-season to improve my overall game, strength and conditioning. While I love the individual aspect of golf, my best golf memories are from my team experiences, which is why I hope to continue playing golf in college. My fall season has been even better than summer and I feel very positive about my golf game right now. I look forward to working to make it even stronger. Over the last few months, I have learned a lot about myself as a golfer and a person, which I feel is a strength moving forward in golf and life.

While golf is extremely important to me, I pride myself on having balance in my life. I have logged hours of community service at my church, my youth group, and various organizations around my community. I strongly believe these experiences have helped shape who I am today. This summer, I enjoyed volunteering with the junior golf program at Hidden Glen GC, helping juniors learn the aspects of golf and giving back to the game I love.

I was featured on Fox 6 Milwaukee. You can view it here.

Thank you for taking the time to read my message. I really look forward to talking with you and learning more about your program!
