evaluations

Abby has a high volleyball IQ and can easily assimilate into a high tempo scheme. Abby is accustomed to playing a 6-2 offensive system; however, has considerable knowledge and ability to play in a 5-1 offensive system as a setter. Abby is adaptable in meeting coach’s needs, meaning she is adept at playing outside of her natural setting position if needed as a back row player. Abby is a caring person and a role model, one her teammates look to for guidance and humor. Abby has a strong work ethic. She is a focused and determined student and athlete, going to great lengths to improve herself on and off the court. — Chad Tuskiewicz, ScoutU Scout, 414-313-9881, Chad@ScoutU.com

MESSAGE FROM ABBY

My name is Abby Sobczak. I am a 5-6 2021 setter at South Milwaukee High School in Wisconsin. I was 2nd-Team All-Conference during my junior year. My cumulative GPA is a 3.0, and I want to major in nursing.  Some things I focus on when playing is how I am able to read the court, like where the setter on the other team sets and who she is going to set to in order to align myself defensively. One thing that stands out for me is when someone is down and they need a boost, I come up with something funny to say or tell them something that helps refocus them. When someone is in need, either of more practice or motivation, I try to help them. I chose nursing, because I like physical science and learning about the body. I took college level CNA classes this past in my junior year, earning college credit and will be a certified CAN, which will allow me to work in hospitals and nursing homes. After my school day is done, I go to my middle school and help the middle school volleyball team. I love helping them and seeing the new freshman come up.  I just wanted to say thank you for taking time to read this.
