John Cochran, who lives near Charlotte, NC, has worked with athletes throughout the Southeastern United States since 2003. He played basketball, football, track and swimming through high school and focused on track, cross country and swimming at NCAA Division I programs between Radford University and Virginia Tech.

A sports performance coach for many years, John has helped athletes from high school through post collegiate improve their strength and conditioning efforts, as well as local runners, swimmers and triathletes.

For more than 20 years, John worked as a college coach with track, cross country and swimming programs along the South and Mid-Atlantic. In that time, his athletes developed into national qualifiers and conference champions. With an eye for recruiting team leaders, he has helped 25 of his athletes to become high school and college coaches.

John has also worked with high schools as a history and physical education teacher, athletic director at a private school, as well as coach of teams in basketball, track and cross country. He helped those athletes to five state champions, 30 new school records and a national champion. A large number of those athletes have continued to compete at the college level.

John is a veteran of both the Navy and Army, having served active duty and the reserves between 1994 and 2020. His reserve service allowed him to pursue coaching and teaching.

Through John’s coaching experience, he has developed a strong eye for talent as well as an understanding of what it takes to make it to the next level. He has coached at each level of the NCAA and NAIA, taught high school and college and developed leaders in the military. John has strong abilities in finding student-athletes who are leaders on the field, in the classroom and in other pursuits that stand out to college coaches and admissions. He uses his experience to get athletes onto the team that best fits him or her.

John still laces up his racers and can be found these days running and swimming. His other passion is to travel with his wife and daughter.
