Evaluations

5-foot-9, 160 pounds. LHP/1B/2B. Throws L, bats L. Athletic (junior black belt Taekwondo, nationally ranked tennis player and plays basketball and volleyball for her school). Fastball sits 56-59 mph (touches 62 mph). Strikeout pitcher, utilizing spin, movement and location well. Hits corners consistently with fastball. Changeup (35-53 mph) is consistent, has late break (moves 3-4 feet from plate). Curveball (43-54 mph) breaks late (6-14 inches) and varies speed, depending on the batter. Doesn’t throw riseball (rises 3-8 inches) often, but is throwing it more often. Working on a sinker/screwball (doesn’t throw in games yet). True workhorse. Stays very composed, even when errors are made behind her. At the plate, usually bats No. 4 in the lineup. Power potential, gets many extra-base hits and some home runs. Always has high batting average. Working to improve speed on base paths. Extremely high work ethic. Multiple times a week, will hit 200 balls off a tee and will throw 300-400 pitches a week. Also works with Redline Athletic Development, which develops strength, footwork and overall athleticism. Very good student (Honor Roll). — Jason Lauren, ScoutU Scout, 414-303-7607 (cell), Jason@ScoutU.com

Message from Soseh

My name is Soseh Broglin, and I will be in the Farmington High School (MI) class of 2025. Although I do not have a GPA yet, I am in accelerated math and English classes. I desire to study pre-law in college and move on to be a lawyer. I believe that my ability to be coached and work through any challenge or problem in my way is what stands out about me. I play pitcher and first base. I have a lot of experience with these two positions, and I enjoy playing them very much.

As a left-handed pitcher, I have developed some grips and delivery techniques that make my pitching tough to hit. I throw a very quick fastball as well. I am also a lefty power hitter, batting cleanup most of my career. My work ethic is what has always been special about me. I’ve always wanted to practice and get better as a softball player. I pride myself on outworking everyone around me. Multiple times a week, I usually hit 200 balls off the tee and self-critique my form every time. I go to the batting cages as much as possible. I practice fielding and long throws outside with my father several times a week. During the course of any given week, I throw between 300-400 pitches. I commit to and execute 40-minute cardio sessions at least twice per week.

Softball has taught me some very valuable lessons that I live my life by. It’s taught me to be a leader and how to have mental strength. It has also taught me how to truly commit and dedicate myself. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to go all the way and play college softball. I knew that I wanted to be one of the best softball players in the world. Thanks for your time, and I look forward to speaking with you!
