Evaluations

5-foot-7, 140 pounds. RHP/SS/OF. R/R. 65-69 mph fastball (reached 69 at a practice session in April 2021) . 1st-Team All-Conference as freshman. Hits spots very well. Hits corners well with fastball (has drop to it). Riseball has late movement and uses as strikeout pitch. Keeps arm speed with changeup (flip change, 45-58 mph) and looks like a fastball (also a strikeout pitch). Dropball drops at waist and drops about 4 inches. Performs better under pressure in big game situations. Has good spin, but working to get even better. At SS (68 mph IF), has quick release, charges balls well and has very good range to her left and right. At the plate, batted No. 3 during her 2020 summer club season. Has pop in bat (5 HRs during club season). Fast hands, turns on inside pitches and hits to opposite field often. Working to keeping head level and not dropping her back shoulder. Very passionate about the game. Hard worker. Practices every day. Works out at 6 a.m. 3 times a week. Does a velocity program with weighted balls. Has private hitting/pitching lessons with a college coach. Very competitive. Excellent student (3.85 GPA).

Message from Hannah

My name is Hannah Meshnick, and I am a 2022 graduate of Hortonville High School in Wisconsin. I am 5-foot-7 and weigh 140 pounds. My main position is pitcher, while I also play shortstop and outfield. I took Honors English my past two years of high school and own a 3.85 GPA. I was a 1st-Team All-State during my junior season (14-2, 0.89 ERA, 157 SO IN 117 IP). I am able to work all parts of the zone and spot my fastball (65-69 mph). Not only am I adept at pitching, but I have a wide range at shortstop and in the outfield. I have a quick release when throwing to first base (68 mph). My batting average is .432, and I’m able to hit the ball wherever it is pitched (70 mph exit).

Outside of practices and games, I work to improve my strength and further my speed and spin for pitching. During the summer, I participate in a strength and conditioning program at 7 a.m. three days a week. On days I don’t have the program, I lift on my own and do cardio along with it. In the winter, I have a speed program to increase my pitching velocity. This features the use of weighted balls, jaeger bands and drills for explosion. Outside of softball, I participate in volleyball, and I’m very involved with the church.

Thank you for taking time to read about me, and I look forward to getting to know more about your school and softball program!
